Service Manager

We are seeking a Service Manager to supervise our Service Technicians in the implementation and execution of repair work orders. The right candidate will be experienced in vehicle diagnostics, trouble-shooting, and preventive maintenance. In addition to overseeing vehicle service, the Service Manager is responsible for ensuring that all required documents are filled out accurately and filed appropriately.


· To manage and operate the Service Department as a profit centre, and at all times maintaining outstanding customer satisfaction

· To ensure that contact with any customer is done in a professional and courteous manner, whether it be in person, on the telephone or via other communications methods (fax, email etc)

· To demonstrate excellent customer relations by handling a multitude of clients/callers/suppliers

· To manage situations tactfully and politely as the image of the company is directly impacted upon by all Employee's presentation and effort

Further Responsibilities:

Effectively, and efficiently manage work on sold vehicles with the sales department.

Supervise, manage staff and processes within the department

Provide guidance and expertise with regard to technical knowledge to both staff and customers

Establish financial and operational objectives; prepare monthly forecasts; manage performance, efficiency and productivity; provide warranty reports

Conduct staff training as per the Company's training standards and expectations

Conduct department meetings when required

Plan and co-ordinate service promotion activities in coordination with the marketing department

Establish "service specials" in coordination with the marketing department

Handle difficult customer complaints

Prepare reports required by the General Manager

Perform service advisor duties during peak hours or as required

Approve and quote purchase of new equipment and repairs of departmental equipment

Supervise and approve warranty and goodwill claims and their respective procedures
